Strategic Actions, Timeline, Outcomes

a. increased on-line instruction/programs.
b. Identification of boundaries between Tampa & Sarasota-Manatee Campuses.

e. Establishment of academic computing as a separate area, headed by faculty

The Distance Learning Board met only a few times due to changes in the structure of Instructional Technology Services.  Recommendations of the Distance Learning Board and outside influences led to:                                                                     

The funding of incentives, for faculty, to develop online courses and to participate in video-conference courses.  Courses delivered via video-conferencing to/from the main Sarasota-Manatee campus to/from the South County campus began in Summer 2008.  Special Education and Information Technology faculty expanded their use of Elluminate.  The School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, the College of Education, and the College of Arts and Sciences added to the number of online courses offered by USF SM.  Future plans include online courses in Criminology in 2008-09.
